OPTION #1- Parenting
Whether parenting as a single mom or with the father of you baby. Care Net of Schuylkill County offers free services designed to assist you. The center offers classes and a peer counselor during your pregnancy and until your baby is 24 months old. Your counselor will be compassionate, caring and most important she will respect your privacy, keeping your visits confidential.
A Care Net Client stated that the parenting classes gave her hope, answers and confidence. “I learned to be responsible and how to care for my child.”
OPTION #2- Adoption
You most likely would prefer to raise your child on your own. Circumstances are making this decision so difficult. Two questions you can ask yourself, “Will I be able to give my baby all of the opportunity he or she deserves?” “Am I ready to be a mom?” You may decide you want something more for your child. An adoption plan is an option for you to consider. Your counselor can provide referrals and information about licensed adoption agencies, which will help you to make a life plan for you and your baby. You can choose an open adoption that will include pictures and visits with your child on birthdays or holidays. You may even choose a plan where you select the parents who will care for your child.
OPTION #3 – ABORTION
Care Net of Schuylkill County offers peer counseling and accurate information about all of your options. We can share information about abortion. However, we do not refer or offer abortion services.
